The old trickle down theory has failed us. Barack Obama has a different approach.
Archive for September, 2008“Figured,” a recent Obama ad, ends with the line “it takes trust in each other to get the job done.” Over the coming days we are all going to realize the truth of those words. Barack Obama has a new ad out called “Parachute” which talks about the travesty of failed CEOs taking millions from their companies. Here is Barack’s speech in Detroit Michigan. These are difficult days, days of great uncertainty. Never forget America has faced difficult times before. This version of the future doesn’t have to happen. You can change it. Register. Vote. Recruit your friends to register and vote. Do it now. There aren’t many days left until it’s too late. Visit Vote for Change right now and find out how you can make a difference. That is the number of times John McCain mentioned the middle class in last night’s debate. The next time you think he cares about you remember that simple zero. Here is Barack’s ad simply called “zero.”

John McCain Pretends The Iraq War Started In 2007–John McCain Is WrongPosted by rbyers in UncategorizedHere is Barack Obama hammering McCain on McCain’s long series of mistakes of judgment about the Iraq war. Barack Obama has just released a reassuring 1:00 ad. In “A Stronger Economy” Obama points to the failed Republican philosophy that brought us to the current crisis, and the way forward back to prosperity. Give the ad a look. It is probably Obama’s best ad of the campaign. This morning pundits are speculating that John McCain dumped Letterman for Couric in order to deflect attention away from a disastrous interview of Sarah Palin. It worked. Only parts of the Palin interview were shown last evening. Here is part of the interview. Realizing that Palin could be President as early as next year makes me afraid for the future of our country. Yesterday afternoon John McCain suspended his campaign. He had been scheduled to appear on David Letterman’s show last night. He called Dave and told him that he was rushing back to Washington to save the American economy. A funny thing happened on the way to Washington, John went on Katie Couric’s show instead. Letterman found out that McCain lied to him. Letterman was really, really angry. If you didn’t see Letterman’s comments. Here are highlights. What is really stupid about McCain’s move is that Letterman and Couric are on the same network. Lousy staff work, really lousy staff work. Bill Burton, Obama campaign spokesman, just issued the following statement:
I understand Senator McCain will also attend the meeting.

A Message From The Bush Administration’s Ministry of the TreasuryPosted by rbyers in UncategorizedI received an email from the “Ministry of the Treasury of the Republic of America.” Do you think I ought to send all of my money?
Do you remember the last major scandal involving lending institutions? That’s right. The Keating Five scandal during the savings and loan debacle. Well, the senator at the center of the Keating Five was John McCain. There was a world of evidence of corruption and unethical behavior by five prominent US Senators and John McCain’s political god-father Charles Keating. Keating was convicted. McCain and the other senators barely survived. After that scandal John McCain was born again as a campaign finance reformer. His views on the role of government in the underlying savings and loan mess weren’t changed a bit. He was for deregulation of the savings and loan industry before he was caught and he was for deregulation after he escaped with a slap on the wrist. Jonathan Alter has more. Don’t you think somebody ought to question John McCain about the similarities between the savings and loan mess and our current financial crisis? Thanks to wecast094231 for the video of last night’s Countdown. Recently John McCain reinvented himself for the third time during this election. He is now calling himself a populist change candidate. His speeches sound like the second coming of William Jennings Bryan. Unfortunately beyond yelling he is for change the new, new John McCain hasn’t said much. So far he wants to fire a stray official or too, and he wants to stop golden parachutes and earmarks for everybody but his friends. John and his lobbyist OBN staff need listen to Barack Obama’s speech entitled “Reforming Washington” to find out what needs to be done. Video on the blog. Queen Latifah, Sophie Okonedo, Alicia Keys, and Jennifer Hudson want you to visit www.voteforchange.com to register to vote, request an absentee ballot, and find your polling location on November 5, 2008.
