 Have you seen the movie “The Incredibles”?  It’s a cute little cartoon about a “retired” super hero, who regrets the choices he made that led to infamy and shame and perhaps “forced” him into retirement.  Maybe, just maybe our former Governor has too much time on his hands.

On a cold day in January, most Missourians said goodbye to an era of ineptitude and nepotism, or so we thought.  What is Matt Blunt …running for? Congress..superhero…to save his reputation…his health?

A friend of mine sent me to his new website. Scary.  The truth is he looks good, relaxed, his wife and kid seem happy with his decision not to seek reelection. But somehow, I don’t think Matt Blunt is so happy about it.  I couldn’t help but notice the ominous voice over at the end of the “infomercial”basically promising us that shall our superhero be needed he will once again heed the call….

Governor, do us a favor don’t answer the phone.

Everybody is waiting for the convention to start.  There is not much happening until this evening. That gives us an opportunity to examine John McCain’s “McMoney” plan to save the American economy.  The McCain “McMoney” plan is based on John’s personal experience.  It worked for him and it can work for America.  Give the video a look and see if John’s plan makes as much sense to you as it does to John.

Did you know that John McCain was a POW 40 years ago?  Me neither.  Who knew?

Former member of the JCDC and old friend Bob Fisher emailed me some John McCain McMansion Jokes.  Here they come.

1. It’s not McCain’s fault he can’t remember how many houses he has – he
had the number written down but he left it in his other plane.

2. The McCains don’t count the motor home because it’s only got four
bathrooms and there’s nowhere for the gardeners to sleep.

3. John McCain’s getting an unfair rap for buying all those houses. Come
on, now! He needed SOMEPLACE to put all those swimming pools!

4. What good do 7 (8?) houses do a fellow when – after trying to enter
Cindy (his wife) in a wet t-shirt contest at Sturgis – she’s made him
sleep in the dog house(s)…

5. Don’t blame McCain. Cindy couldn’t resist that “buy six mansions, get
one free” sale at Countrywide.

6. Know what else? McCain doesn’t know how many of his houses share a
border with Pakistan.

7. What? John McCain doesn’t know how many houses he owns? Can’t he ask
Joe Lieberman?

One thing John McCain shouldn’t do is throw stones.  For some reason McCain has been trying hard to define Barack Obama as an out of touch elitist.  Here is a video examining  John McCain’s tenuous connection to the world of family budgets and kitchen table issues Barack, Joe Biden and the rest of us inhabit.

One of the real complaints people have about the mainstream media is that they grade John McCain on a curve. Gaffes that would be mentioned if Barack Obama said them are ignored if uttered by John McCain. Talking Points Memo has posted this video of McCain struggling with reality. One has to wonder when he is going to start shaking his fist at a cloud.
